Monocouche Rendering Systems

Monocouche a French term that translates to "one-coat" it is machine applied to most building materials to a thickness of between 12 and 20 mm. The render comes in a large variety of colours to suit most tastes and surroundings.

Newbury Plasterers has a vast knowledge built up over 3 decades of screeding floors. Covering the industrial, commercial and domestic markets our team experienced in all aspects of screeding.

From traditional sand and cement screeds to the latest screed technologies we have the expertise to deliver first class floor to you.

Liquid Floor Screed:

Over the last 20 years’ liquid screed has become more prevalent than traditional screed. The main reason for its popularity is liquid screed can be laid thinner than traditional screed, thus reducing the depth of insulation and curing time.

Liquid screed is the more cost-efficient choice for floors with under floor heating as its conductivity is superior.

Tacking / Dot & Dab (Drylining):

Tacking, is the modern method used to fix plasterboard to walls and ceilings with drywall screws. Tacking is generally used when fixing timber or metal.

Dot and dab, is the method used when applying plasterboard to masonry, brickwork and blockwork with plasterboard adhesive.

Both methods require skimming and are normally used in new builds due to it being faster and cleaner to apply compared to two coats of plaster.

Removal, Repair or Covering of Artex:

Artex the once fashionable finish to walls and ceilings is now very dated with the more modern look being a smooth flat finish. Newbury Plasterers have a vast experience of flattening down or removing Artex and would be happy to quote for such works.

If you still like the look of Artex we have several designs, you can choose from. We also carry out repairs to your excising Artex.

Skimming & Over Skimming:

Skimming and over skimming is the technic used to either cover flaws or defects on excising old walls and ceilings or to give a surface finish on new plasterboard walls and ceilings. skimming leaves a smooth finish for painting or wall papering.

This method does not cure any structural problems in your properties ceiling or walls.
